About the role:

We have an exciting opportunity to recruit a Contracts Manager to join our Construction team on a 12 month basis to cover a period of maternity leave. This is a pivotal time to join the team in such a key position to support the successful delivery of the Gentoo Homes’ business plan over the next financial year.

You will be responsible for 3-4 new build developments across the North East, ensuring the build programme is achieved and quality is maintained, along with improving the NHBC RI ratios and customer satisfaction. You will ensure the Site Management teams are adhering to safe working practices and maintaining excellent standards of health & safety across your sites.

What we are looking for:

The ideal candidate will:

• Hold an NVQ level 6 or equivalent in a construction related discipline; or have demonstrable experience in a similar role

• Have demonstrable experience of working to NHBC standards and previous management experience of running multiple new build sites and managing multiple teams

• Have strong knowledge of the house building industry and demonstrable ability to forge good working relationships with colleagues and stakeholders across Gentoo

• Have excellent customer care skills and the ability to forecast builds on multiple new build sites
